Delete Your Big Maths Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your account or your child's data, what is removed, and what may be retained.

Delete your full account

Full account deletion removes your parent or guardian account, all child profiles linked to it, all learning progress, voice recordings, and subscription data.

You can delete your whole account yourself from the portal:

  1. Sign in at bigmaths.website/login
  2. Go to Account Settings
  3. Scroll to Delete your account
  4. Confirm by typing DELETE when prompted

Once confirmed, a 28-day cooling-off period begins and your subscription is cancelled straight away, so there are no further charges. Your children can keep using the app until the deletion date. You can cancel any time during those 28 days by logging back in. On day 29, your account and all your children's data are permanently and irreversibly deleted.

Prefer to ask us instead? You can email support@bigmaths.com (subject: Account Deletion Request) and we will process your request within 30 days.

Delete a child's data without closing your account

You can request permanent deletion of an individual child's data at any time without closing your parent account. This is available self-service through the portal:

  1. Sign in at bigmaths.website/login
  2. Go to Account Settings
  3. Scroll to Privacy & Data Rights
  4. Select the child and choose Request GDPR Erasure
  5. Confirm by typing DELETE when prompted

Once confirmed, a 28-day cooling-off period begins. You will receive a confirmation email with the scheduled deletion date. You can cancel the request any time during that period from the same screen. On day 29, the child's data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.

What data is deleted

When a deletion request is completed, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Parent or guardian account (email address, account preferences)
  • All child profiles (name, year group, door preference)
  • All learning progress records (CLIC scores, Learn Its results, progress tree state)
  • Baseline assessment sessions and results
  • Family voice recordings uploaded through the app
  • Subscription status and plan records held by Big Maths

Where you have downloaded your data before requesting deletion, the downloaded copy remains on your own device.

What may be retained

Some records may be retained after deletion where we are required to do so by law or where retention is necessary for legitimate security purposes:

  • Billing and transaction records — retained for up to 7 years as required by UK financial and tax regulations (these contain only transaction amounts and dates, not personal learning data)
  • Security and fraud logs — retained for a limited period where required for the investigation of potential abuse or legal proceedings
  • Anonymised, aggregated statistics — usage statistics that cannot be linked back to an individual are not deleted, as they contain no personal data

No retained record includes a child's name, learning scores, or identifiable progress data.
