The Progress Tree

The Progress Tree is your child's picture of their own maths journey. It shows how far they have come, never how they compare.

A child's Glade, with the Progress Tree at the top, the CLIC and Learn Its totems below it and the Exit button in the bottom corner

It starts after the Baseline Assessment. Once the starting points are saved, the tree gains its first colour.

It grows with learning. New colour comes as your child moves forward in CLIC or Learn Its, so it will not change after every activity. The extra Ultimate and Bonus Learn Its challenges add no new colour.

One tree for everyone. Your child sees their tree in their Glade. Parents and tutors see the same tree on bigmaths.website, beside the separate CLIC and Learn Its levels.

Only against themselves. The tree never compares children. It is not a school year, a mark or a ranking. A quiet spell on the tree does not mean your child is stuck; learning is still settling.

By the way…

Use the tree to start a conversation: "Your tree has grown! What have you been working on?"
