Big Maths Beat That! gives your pupils practice between sessions. It also shows you where to focus your time together.
Who can do this: tutors with a tutor account.
Set up your tutor account. Register at bigmaths.website/tutors/signup, verify your email and choose a plan. A tutor account covers up to 20 pupils.
Add pupils. Select Add Pupil to create a new pupil. You look after that pupil until you hand them to a family.
Pupils who already use Big Maths at home. Ask the family for a linking code and select Enter a code on your dashboard. Pupils you create and pupils linked to you both count towards your 20 places. Linked pupils are marked Linked, and their Door stays on the family's devices.
Open a pupil's page. Select My Pupils, then View. Your child's page explains what it shows.
Prepare your next session. Let your pupil explain first: ask them to show you an example before you teach anything. Then plan one small next step. Reports gives an overview of all your pupils.
Your plan. A pupil's page says "Covered by your subscription until …" when your plan covers them. You never see anything about a family's own plan. If a pupil is not covered by anyone, Add to my plan covers them.
Share or hand over a pupil you set up. Generate linking code lets a family see the pupil too. Generate transfer code hands the pupil to the family. Talk it through with the family first. See Sharing a child with a tutor or school.
Remove or delete. Remove pupil stops covering the pupil on your plan; you can still see their progress. Delete from my account takes the pupil out of your account. A linked family keeps them. Otherwise they are held for 29 days and then permanently deleted.
By the way…
A short note to the family after each session helps home practice and your teaching pull in the same direction.
